Meeting Format

The meeting itself is divided into two parts, separated by a break:

  1. The first half of the meeting consists of reports from the TASC Executive, as well as from Sub-Committee chairs, and any existing temporary (Ad Hoc) committees. You will be provided with an opportunity to ask questions after each report.
  2. The second half of the meeting consists of:
    a) Elections of nominated members
    b) Nominations for open positions
    c) Business.
    d) Group announcements

Business

All business is conducted through motions(see table below). The most important is the Main motion. This is a form that you
must pick up from the sign-in table, and fill out. Motions require a maker and a seconder, except when made
by a group. For all other motions please refer to page 2 (which is currently page 30 of the P&P). It is
recommended that you learn how to use these motions, as they are how you have a voice at this meeting.

Voting

When voting on any motion, you normally have 4 options. These are:

  1. Vote FOR the motion
  2. Vote AGAINST the motion
  3. ABSTAIN, if you need more information to make a decision
  4. DON’T VOTE at all
