Public Relations Subcommittee
The Public Relations Subcommittee meets at 7pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, Room 2015 CAMH, 33 Russell St. *Please note, we will meet on the 3rd Tuesday in April*
If you would like to join the PR Subcommittee, get involved with the website, participate in any of our speaking engagements, maintain literature supplies at various community centres, share any ideas, provide suggestions, or have any questions, you are welcome to attend our meetings.
The purpose of Public Relations work in Narcotics Anonymous is to inform the public that NA is available as a community resource, offering recovery from the disease of addiction. A Public Relations committee (PR) helps to ensure that accurate information about our fellowship is available to the public.
Our primary purpose as a fellowship is to carry the message to the addict who still suffers. PR is a vital part of “carrying the message.” This type of service calls upon us to communicate and participate in many areas of the community including but not limited to schools, health centres, and public forums. A critical part of our mandate within the fellowship is to maintain our meeting lists as well as our area website. We are also the point of contact for health care professionals and media outlets
From time to time our fellowship may be invited to participate in public events. In these situations we may provide an NA booth, which contains some of our literature and meeting lists. Members who man a booth also provide more information such as our website address, our helpline number, and may be able to provide answers to some questions that may be posed.
